The Missing Guest — Haunted Manor Jigsaw Puzzle

Upstairs, dinner is being served. Downstairs, someone is begging to be let out.

Between them stand hidden passages, watchful servants and a guest who has disappeared.

Explore Greywick Manor in 1,000 pieces—a detailed Gothic house where the rooms belong to one unsettling story.

She came looking for her brother.

In the autumn of 1893, Clara Bell arrives at Greywick Manor with a question.

Her brother, William, visited two weeks ago. Why has he never returned?

The household says he left early. Yet in the entrance hall, Clara spots a suitcase she recognises.

Before she can look closer, the butler directs her upstairs.

That evening, she joins the guests for dinner. Candles burn. Wine is poured. A maid signals urgently from the doorway, and Clara leaves the table.

The next course arrives.

One chair remains empty.

A red glove. An empty room.

The butler says Clara has retired for the evening. His hands stay behind his back, concealing a ring of keys.

Upstairs, the maid finds disturbed bedding, scattered clothes and a red glove on the floor.

Beside it is an opening in the wall.

Clara has found another way through the house.

Earlier, in the blue-tiled bathroom, she noticed something wrong with her reflection.

A shadow in the mirror turned towards the wall.

Clara had not moved.

Behind a loose panel, narrow stairs led into the darkness.

The investigator is not alone.

Another dinner guest has quietly left the table.

He is a detective, following reports of visitors who disappeared after staying at Greywick.

In the green library, he kneels beside a muddy trace leading towards the shelves.

Behind him, a bookcase opens.

A lantern lights the passage beyond it.

He is being watched.

The house keeps what its guests leave behind.

Beneath the roof lie old trunks, covered furniture and a portrait removed from the landing. A doll in a white dress waits among them.

The trunks belonged to former visitors.

In another room, their clothes still hang on the dressmaker’s mannequins.

The woman in the portrait is Eleanor, the owner’s late wife. Her face appears throughout the house.

Her husband, Dr Voss, has become obsessed with making her return.

Behind the comfortable rooms, his laboratory holds the evidence of experiments conducted on people who were never allowed to leave.

Eleanor tried to stop him.

When she attempted to free his captives, she disappeared too.

But the figure in the bathroom mirror is still pointing out hidden doors.

And in the music room, pale hands rest on the piano keys, playing a melody no living guest remembers beginning.

Beneath the dinner table.

Clara follows the music through the passages.

A pursuer catches her and takes her underground.

Above, the kitchen prepares another course. Below, a keeper tends the furnace beside pipes and turning machinery.

Beyond them is a locked cell.

William is still alive.

The maid knows the servants’ routes through the walls. With the detective beside her, she finally dares to use them.

They find the missing visitors’ luggage in the wine cellar, stop the keeper and reach the keys outside the cell.

The door opens.

For the first time that night, Clara and her brother have a way out.

Follow the footprints into the garden.

The maid leads them along a low passage beneath the greenhouse.

They push through the concealed exit between the plants and stone steps. Red fabric catches on the opening.

Outside, a lantern lights the muddy footprints climbing towards the garden.

The carriage is waiting beyond the gates.

By dawn, the doctor and his butler are in custody.

Eleanor’s portrait is returned to the landing. The mirror reflects normally. The piano falls silent.

Only the attic doll remains troubling.

The last man to inspect the room remembers it facing the wall when he entered.

When he closed the door, it was looking at him.

Choose a room. Settle in. Look closer.

Begin with the burgundy bedroom, sort the blue bathroom tiles or build the shelves of the green library.

Then connect the rooms: the glove beside the hidden opening, the luggage above and below ground, the keys outside the cell, and the red traces near the greenhouse.

There are patterned floors, crowded shelves, brass machinery and glass panes to bring together—and small scenes to return to once the last piece is in place.

Put the kettle on and spend an evening inside a house with rather a lot to hide.

A thoughtful gift for someone who loves Gothic fiction, intricate illustrations and a pleasantly unsettling puzzle night.

1,000 pieces · Finished size: 70 × 50 cm
